THE B9 MODEL UPDATES THE POPULAR B1. ULTRA LIGHT CAR SEAT MADE FOR PERFORMANCE SALOON CARS.

THE B9 - CARBON EPOXY CAR SEAT

The lightest car seat option for road and track use in performance saloon cars. The B9 is identical in shape to the B8. The difference between the two models is weight and finish. The B9 weighs an astonishing 3.2kg and has a beautiful gloss carbon finish both front and rear, making it the premium option.

The B9’s fantastic qualities are a result of its twin skin moulding construction, structural use of carbon fibre and epoxy resin. These attributes result in a seat both rigid and strong yet remains far lighter than any other comparable seats on the market.

The B9 has excellent support along with comfort and convenience for daily driving. The carefully contoured shape locates the body firmly in position, whilst leaving the shoulders free to steer the car unhindered. Its shape is so perfectly moulded to the body that it requires no covering, reducing the overall seat weight even further and lowering the driving position. The ability of the B9 to run without padding makes it ideal for an open topped car used in a harsh environment. We do however recommend using our thin Dinamica suede covered panel sets for more regular road use.

There are two edge cuts, the B9-44.5 we call “edges on” meaning the continuous rolled edge at the leg area of the seat remains uncut. This gives a more aesthetically pleasing line to the edge of the seat making it easier to slide in and out of the car. Therefore, if you have the space, we recommend using this model.

If you do not have the space the B9-43 is needed. We call this specification the “edges off” option. These have the rolled edges at the leg area carefully removed to fit the seat between the gearbox tunnel and the door sill of a restricted width cockpit. As an example, this trimmed back option is required to fit the B9 in a Lotus Elise/Exige.

Features
1. Factors to consider

There are many factors to consider when choosing a new kart seat.
If you have had a seat in the past. Do you know the size and shape?

2. Choose a Shape

Shape does not make as much difference as the teams would have you believe, but they will be nervous of miss positioning the seat and may want you to use the shape they are used to fitting.

This is fine until the seat is not the right fit for you. An ill-fitting seat can cause a driver to damage their body or hang on the wheel, neither are good for ultimate performance.

Different shapes put in the chassis with the drivers back in exactly the same place, made with the same materials will pretty much handle the same.
That said a significant angle change of the back will alter the handling especially for bigger driver and this should be looked at separately.
