Tillett equipped drivers have secured all 3 podium places in KZ, and outright victory in KZ2 at the 2023 FIA Karting World Championships in Wackersdorf, Germany.
The KZ podium lockout saw Italy’s Paolo Ippolito crowned KZ World Champion after fending off a very hard-charging Viktor Gustafsson who managed to close the gap to 2 seconds at the halfway stage, at times looking like he might take the win. As it was, Gustafsson had to settle for a well deserved second place ahead of Stan Pex.
KZ2 was fought out by Niels Tröger and Alex Powell, who both set off from the front row of the grid in the final. As in the KZ race, the two were closest by the midway point, but it was race leader Tröger who managed to dig in and defend his lead to the flag. Tröger’s victory was the first German win for several decades, and the first on home soil.
