Ferrari Challenge cars are a series of race cars developed by Ferrari for the Ferrari Challenge racing series

The Ferrari Challenge is a one-make racing championship that allows Ferrari owners and enthusiasts to compete at various racetracks around the world.

Today, multiple spinoff Ferrari Challenge racing series operate throughout the world, including the ‘Bell Sport Challenge Series’ in the UK.

Ferrari Challenge cars are purpose-built race cars based on specific road-going models, each generation corresponding to a production model series from Ferrari. Typically, the ‘base’ model will be upgraded in the following areas:

  • Improved Safety (including seats and harnesses)
  • Better aerodynamics
  • Weight reduction
  • Increased power
  • Modified suspension
  • Uprated brakes

The Bell Sport Challenge Series

The Bell Sport Challenge Series is a unique one-make series dedicated to 360, 430, 458 and 488 non-evo Challenge cars.

The series is operated by Hertfordshire based Bell Sport & Classic who specialise in the restoration, sales and servicing of classic and supercars - especially Ferrari’s.

Unlike the Official Ferrari Challenge series, where the operators dictate that certain upgrades are ‘one-make’ (manufacturer-specific), Bell Sport offers more flexibility. This includes the seats, which must still be FIA Approved, but can be chosen by the teams and drivers.

As an FIA 8855-1999 approved seat, Tillett’s C1 has proven to be a very popular upgrade in this series. Shown here fitted to a 488 Challenge car, the seat is based on the popular Tillett B6 screamer - but with improved safety.

About FIA 8855-1999

Accepted by the majority of US sanctioning bodies, and the active standard amongst lots of national and international motorsport championships, 8855-1999 will gradually be replaced over time by 8855-2021, but will remain where certain vehicle interiors cannot accept the newer standard. FIA 8855-1999 seats are valid for racing for 5-years (8 years in some cases within UK stage rallying), and are impact tested to 15-20G.

BUILT DIFFERENT

Tillett seats look, feel and perform differently to any other seat on the market today. This is thanks to a unique (and closely guarded) manufacturing system which is part craftsmanship, part technical know-how and part materials technology.

From research and design to prototype testing and manufacture by hand - every step of our process is rooted in no-compromise quality.
