Retaining the same iconic shape and styling as the B5, the new B12 now utilises our universal bracket system for full compatibility across the entire Tillett seat range.

Same Great Shape but Generic Brackets

Tillett Racing Seats is pleased to announce the replacement of the popular B5 seat with the newly updated B12. While the B5 has been a highly versatile and widely used seat across many different vehicle platforms, the move to the B12 allows us to improve compatibility across our own product range.

One of the key reasons for replacing the B5 is because of its unique bracket system. Unlike the rest of the Tillett seat range, which uses our universal brackets, the B5 required its own dedicated mounting brackets. The new B12 has been redesigned to work with our generic bracket system, creating better consistency across the range while simplifying installation and compatibility for our customers.

Complements Narrow Vehicles

Originally designed to complement narrow vehicles such as the Lotus Elise and Exige, the B5 became known for its compact exterior dimensions, ultra-lightweight construction, and exceptional rigidity. The seat offered an upright road car seating position with swept-away sides for easier access and a more comfortable driving experience on both road and track.

Weighing approximately 4.5kg, the B5 delivered excellent driver feedback while maintaining compatibility with both standard 3-point seat belts and race harnesses, including Hans-device compatibility. Its thin base design also allowed the seating dome to sit directly on the floor, maximising headroom in compact cabins.

We’re pleased to confirm the B12 mirrors all the features of the B5 noted above while bringing the seat range in line with the rest of the Tillett product selection. Customers can still expect the lightweight performance, comfort, and support Tillett seats are known for, alongside optional customisation features including upholstered panels, gel coat colours and bespoke finishes.

At a time when much of the industry relies on overseas mass production, every Tillett seat continues to be developed, manufactured and assembled in-house in the UK. We’re proud of this and it also allows us to maintain exceptional quality control, continuously refining our products through real-world feedback and upholding the craftsmanship, innovation and engineering standards that have defined the Tillett brand for decades.
